i only ever use 6 heroes myself. the 3 sabs necros + barrage+broadhead and a melee. but that 6 per char to pimp. and with 12 pve chars (2 monks, but i only use one in pve stuffs) thats a lot to put stuff on. yes over time ive gotten them all decently equipped, but a pvp like system would be okay for heroes or even an account wide set of heroes (once they reach level 20). yeah that might make it hard for chars that choose a sousuke/jin or whispers/margrid or norgu/goren and then have to use the same heroes to do different things.

i would have to believe that most of the people for this change play more than just one character and the people that oppose it only have a main.

what about as a quest reward? do a short quest with hero and you get this as a quest reward

hero rune of vigor (+25hp)
hero insig of defense (al +5)
hero attribute rune (+1 x percent chance)
hero weapons that fill in the gaps from bonus pack weapons
above items for each individual hero, untradeable etc
5? hero skill points for that proffession

poor players could then have abit better hero's, at no extra cost, infact u could include abit of gold as the quest reward, and less used hero would get a chance tobe used.

quests could be repeatable so that if you fully pimp a hero then later unpimp him/her, u can request and semi pimp him/hero

Hrrmn. At the very least, I could see a "less than minor" rune being useful so you can at least trigger the "+1 to item attribute" property on hero headgear.

Easiest way to implement: Push J for equipment setup on PvE characters. Has no use, is already programmed to do something similar for PvP characters.

I don't see a good reason for this.

Rune and mod prices are already very low. This would further erode the market for them.

This would create an additional incentive for players to use heroes. Heroes are overused by most. Why make them even more popular?
